Refresh yourself in the showers and enjoy the rain-like water of the MistMachine!
We have showers at the festival with a system which creates a refreshing rain, called the MistMachine, for the whole dance area. As such you can refresh yourself after dancing or simply to take a break from the heat. Come prepared to get wet!!
[Attention]
• As there are mosquitos near the water and in the green areas of the festival venue, please come prepared with mosquito repellant.
• Snack foods and such are welcome, however "cooler boxes" are not permitted.

Isla de Salsa, a festival we have all come to know and love, has been upgraded for 2008! The festival will no longer take place in Nokonoshima, but in Jigyohama. While the location has changed, the spirit and concept of Isla de Salsa are unaltered. Our new beachside venue, just as paradise-like as the previous one, will make festival access a breeze. The new Fukuoka-based location eliminates travel time lost to long ferry and bus lines, leaving more time for music and dancing! The 2008 festival will take place on the 9th and 10th of August.

Isla de Salsa, a festival we have all come to know and love, has been upgraded for 2008! The festival will no longer take place in Nokonoshima, but in Jigyohama. While the location has changed, the spirit and concept of Isla de Salsa are unaltered. Our new beachside venue, just as paradise-like as the previous one, will make festival access a breeze. The new Fukuoka-based location eliminates travel time lost to long ferry and bus lines, leaving more time for music and dancing! The 2008 festival will take place on the 9th and 10th of August.
The concept behind Isla de Salsa stays exactly the same: an idyllic place where we can all enjoy music from different parts of the world in a lively and friendly atmosphere where the sun, friends, family, dance and – obviously- the music of our talented guest artists are the main ingredients of this fabulous intercultural exchange. Everyone contributes to the widely-acclaimed, fun, summer atmosphere by bringing their own cultural and personal touch. We chose to celebrate the spirit of Isla de Salsa this year with the words:
“Borderless music, Borderless mind”
As 2008 is the year commemorating the centenary of the friendship treaty between Japan and Colombia as well as a special year of exchange and celebration between Japan and Brazil, Isla de Salsa will echo the commemorations by inviting artists and musicians from these 2 countries. The musical journey won’t stop there as Isla de Salsa will also host musicians from Serbia and Korea.
Finally, as the festival is moving closer to the city, we will pay an extra attention to the environment by using earth-friendly devices and promoting ecological action at the event itself.
We will be looking forward to joining together again this year for this new version of Isla de Salsa, in a new place, but with the same spirit, gusto and energy as always!

If the festival is cancelled due to a force majeure such as bad weather:
If the festival is cancelled on Saturday, August 9:
You can enter the site the next day with the same ticket. If you require a refund, please bring your ticket to Tiempo Iberoamericano by September 10, 2008 and we will refund your money.
If the event is cancelled on Sunday, August 10:
We will refund your money at Tiempo Iberoamericano in exchange for your ticket until September 10, 2008.
Please note that the starting time for the 10th could be changed if the 9th is cancelled. Please confirm it before coming.
