Regarding the refund of entrance fee of Isla de Salsa Sunday the 10th of August
due to the cancellation on the basis of extreme weather.

The time limit for the refund of Isla de Salsa 2008 tickets has expired.



 We would first and foremost like to thank all those who attended and considered attending Isla de Salsa 2008, on Sunday the 10th of August. On that day, we opened the festival, as on the previous day, however regrettably were forced to cancel it midway given the strong storm which occurred that afternoon: strong thunder, lightening very close to the venue and intense rain, with our primary concern of the safety of all those in attendance. While the organizer did not have legal obligation to refund in the event of cancellation due to force majeure, such as extreme weather, we have nonetheless come to the conclusion that refunding the entrance money of those who attended or purchased tickets, is the best thing we can do.

The organizer, Tiempo Iberoamericano, is a NPO, which means that any resources that are used to organize the event are drawn from the funds the aforementioned Center uses to maintain and improve itself. As a non-profit organization, the spirit of the Entity is committed to use the resources which achieve activities inline with the mission of the organization, not for the profit of any part or person affiliated with the aforementioned Center. All funds received are used to create and continue the growth of the organization in so far as the funds received permit.

In this case, the stage had been created, the stage technicians were all present and the invited artists were backstage waiting for their performances to begin. There were three hours of the festival during which attendees were able to see various local performers. It was in this situation that we had to cancel the festival due to extreme weather. This incident places our institution in a grave situation, and for this reason we request your assistance, by means of donating any or all percentage of the entrance fee that you deem fair.


    What is necessary to receive a refund for the entrance fee of August 10th:
  • The entrance ticket or “hanken” for the 10th (Sunday).
Attention!: Invitations are non-refundable.
Similarly, there is no refund possible for those tickets or bands which can not clearly be verified due to dirt or breakage.


    Steps to receiving a refund. (Accepting refund requests through the 10th of September)
  • Send or bring your entry ticket or “hanken” along with your refund request form to NPO Tiempo Iberoamericano. The receptionist will register your request for refund. Tiempo Iberoamericano will retain your ticket. When refund money is available, you will be advised by telephone or mail to confirm the means of refunding your entrance fee.

  • Go to Tiempo Iberoamericano to receive your refunded money. In the case of bank transfer, you will receive the money on the date which you will be informed of by Tiempo. ( In this case you will be responsible to cover any charges associated with the bank transfer ).



Attention:
We will require time to process the refund of your money. For this reason we cannot return the money the same day even if you bring your ticket or “hanken” directly to Tiempo Iberoamericano. First we must receive and check all requests. We will them inform you directly of the date on which the refund can be picked up.
We will have the refund available within one month of receiving your request.
